OMG...No WMG!!!

When I signed up for YouTube many light years ago, it took me some time to realise that I could upload any format ending in .WMV. Considering this, I took a bit of time to find out what I wanted to upload. Knowing quite a bit about copyrights etc I set about making 2 video's to upload. Successfully I uploaded both of them and hey presto...I'm still on it today -yippee. Hang on though wait for this? I then set about making a video about the state of Britain using various images posted on the web of housing estates, youths etc. What better music to accompany this that "Welcome To The Jungle". Sorry Mr Neilan, that's a no no as far as were concerned. Having read the reason why, I pulled it sharpish!!! The reason was that, not the images but the music, "Welcome To The Jungle", was owned by non other than Warner Music Group. Okay I thought I will be more careful in future.

There I am one night looking through my folder of exotic cars and thought, "I know, I'll make a tribute to cars past & future. So being a bit of a musician, I compiled my images and put "Cars" by Gary Newman to the backing, along with 2 of my own tracks and uploaded. Well blow me down there I am looking through my e-mails and I saw an e-mail from the boys at You Tube, what now I thought. Sure enough the same problem, copyright infringement on behalf of a Warner Music Group artist. Well hang on a minute here You Tube, I'm 44 years old, keep myself to myself and yet you have all sorts of thrash on your website...gangster's included. There are women scantily clad, lad's pissed up doing things that will almost end up in A&E. Yet here I am keeping the spirit alive of artist's who might be forgotten tomorrow. Come on You Tube, have a bit of sense, what I might be doing is increasing the sales of past artist's such as Gary Newman or Guns 'N' Roses have you thought about that? There is nothing dirty or nasty in what I post on the web, I leave that to the numpties on Facebook. What I post is purely visual art and make no mistake about that.
